With it being so wintry by me, I felt inspired by Aspen–a place of snow, lights, and beauty. I had the glamorous town in mind when putting together this outfit. Not only did I have the town in mind, but I also love to play around with different fashion trends from different decades. I love mod fashion (hello, Twiggy!), which was a popular trend in the early-to-mid 1960s among British subculture. Mod designs consist of geometric patterns, minimalist feels and sometimes bright and bold colors. I added a wintry faux fur vest to add to the ski resort chic vibe. With the time and place in mind, I devised a look of both minimalist, geometric mod elegance and winter couture.
Known for its cultural events, location in the mountains, rich nightlife, and luxurious hotels, Aspen is a place dressed to impress. I am wearing a Juicy Couture faux fur vest, Zara skirt, Forever 21 turtleneck, thigh-high boots from Call It Spring, a Nina Ricci necklace, and a vintage Chanel bag. To add height to the look, I put my hair in a high ponytail. When wearing thigh-high boots as well as a long turtleneck, hair has the power to add height.
Whether you’re in Aspen, the Bahamas, or just at home, you have the ability to play pretend and dress as if you are anywhere. I have never been to Aspen (nor the 60s!), but this outfit makes me feel as if I could be and to be someone different.
