Cozy Chic + Staple Pieces
When it is as cold as it is by me, I love to stay cozy yet, as always, stylish! Something that I have been wearing a lot is my camel-colored scarf. I think camel is the perfect color staple for fall and winter. Plus, it is a neutral color so it goes with practically anything! What I love about this scarf is that it is big enough to be worn as a shawl, which is what I have been doing. This allows me to wear it in an unexpected way that also compliments whatever outfit I put together.
In this look, I am wearing an American Apparel bodysuit, Vivienne Westwood skirt, Call It Spring thigh-high boots, Oscar de la Renta necklace, and Forever 21 camel-colored scarf/shawl.
While camel is a popular neutral color, the other items in the outfit should still support it. Each pattern, material, texture, and color should bring out the best in the scarf (or whatever item you use) in order to use it to its full potential. For example, the skirt has similar tones to the main accessory–the shawl–and keeps the look interesting with its plaid pattern. Each piece of a look, in my opinion, should not only compliment each other, but should offer something unique and unexpected. Another plus with this shawl is that it is so cozy and keeps me warm when I am wearing an above-knee skirt in winter weather!
Finding a staple piece is so valuable because it has the capability to transform a cute outfit into a jaw-dropping look and can make you feel even more confident than before.
