Welcome to my blog stylethist, which is all about being your own stylist. I have always loved putting outfits together from findings at flea markets and thrift stores and combining them with items from malls and outlet stores. Styling, to me, is all about putting what you find from wherever into a look in which each item compliments and brings out the best in each other.
Before I even knew what fashion was I loved it. My mom would dress me up in the cutest clothes that she found from flea markets and thrift shops. From this exposure, I became obsessed with designers and trends. I always tried to be the best dressed person in my classes and usually wore shoes with at least a two-inch heel.
I didn’t know that what I loved to do was actually called “styling” until I heard about Rachel Zoe about seven years or so ago. Since then, I have thought of myself as a stylist, not just someone who puts outfits together. I would assist friends and family members in choosing outfits for events or for daily life. I love helping people find that extra item that really brings the outfit up a level and makes it stand out. Yet, I wanted to do more. I wanted to expose more people to the beauty of clothes and designers and show them what I can do for them.
However, I learned that styling was a difficult business to do that only a few people did successfully. I also admired business and start-ups as well as learning languages and traveling, so I wanted to somehow be able to incorporate all of this into one. Then, I discovered the world of fashion blogging. In 2013, I created my blog Omgfashiongirl where I started posting my everyday outfits and travels. Then, once I started my first semester at college, I took a break from blogging. I missed it, but needed time to focus on my studies. During this break, I became aware of more bloggers and realized how fashion blogging was a business. This is why I started this blog, Stylethist, where I believe that styling is an art and can bring out the best in people. I hope that you enjoy my blog and it makes you feel fashionable inside and out.
